Seasonal Style Series: What to Wear in NY this Spring

Seasonal Style Series: What to Wear in NY this Spring

March 16th, 2020 | Fashion

Staying indoors is no reason to wear sweatpants all day. Rummage through your closet and hunt for outfits that fit this spring’s fashion trends. This spring, bright colors, psychedelic florals and statement accessories will have you looking like you’ve just returned from a shopping spree in New York

Footwear

New Yorkers are on their feet a lot, and while heels look great, they aren’t always a viable option for your daily plans. If you’re opting for comfort, retro-inspired sneakers are the way to go. Reebok and New Balance have tons of options. Do you want to show off your immaculate pedicure? This season, chain-embellished heels are everywhere.

Jeans

The always versatile, sexy dark denim is the jean of choice this season and works great with all your plans. Luckily, dark denim matches well with just about anything and can be dressed up or down. Keep an eye out for fringe shirts and crochet tops, which will make a nice contrast with your dark jeans.

Tops/Dresses

If there’s one thing NYC Fashion Week made clear for women’s wear daily this spring is that the ‘90s are still in! Tube tops are back but with a sophisticated look. Pair them with suit pants, high rise jeans and wide-legged pants to create some balance. Show a bit more skin on the hottest days with bra tops or body-hugging corset tops. Continuing with a look back into the past, spring dresses come in psychedelic florals, very 60s and vintage, and we are loving it.

Jackets

As for jackets, bright color leather or faux leather is raging this season. For a more structured look, choose double breasted blazers or white suits. Also, wear your faux fur jackets while you can—summer is just around the corner and you won’t get to live your faux fantasy for another six months.

Bottoms

Nothing screams “warm weather” more than hot pants. Even if you’re copped up at home, show off your legs with ultra short pants paired with loose and long-sleeved tops in light fabrics. You can also add one of the blazers we mentioned above to bring out your most chic self.
