5 Manhattan Boutiques We Love

May 1st, 2018 | Fashion

Any visit to Manhattan calls for shopping, and the densely-packed borough is an anchor for all kinds of boutiques. Here is our list of our favorite Manhattan boutiques, which includes women’s and men’s collections, gifts, accessories and shoes.

If Boutique 94 Grand St.

Designers include Japanese clothing company Commes des Garcons; Belgian designer Margiela; and Junya Watanabe, to name a few. If Boutique is well curates and carries clothing for men and women, as well as accessories. Open Mon-Sat 11-7 pm; Sunday 12-6:30 pm.

Lingo 229 Mott Street

A unique selection with designers from around the world makes for unique pieces you don’t have to worry about anyone else on the street wearing. Check out articles from clothing line Nature vs. Future for natural, sustainable fabrics and sculptural design. Open 12-7 daily; closed Mondays.

Awl & Sundry 18 W. 23rd Street, 4th Floor

For men who feel they’ll never be able to find a comfortable pair of dress shoes at a reasonable price, you aren’t alone: Awl & Sundry was created to tackle this often uncomfortable dilemma. Awl & Sundry offers artisanal, custom shoemaking at a reasonable price, using fine products tailored to your feet. Visit Awl & Sundry for a proper fitting; customize your shoes, and in a few weeks Awl & Sundry can deliver them to your front door. This approach is way more effective than buying a new pair of ill-fitting dress shoes every three years. Open 10:30-7 daily.

Story 144 10th Avenue

Self described as specializing in “ephemeral retail,” Story changes their products every 8 weeks, offering visitors something fresh, new, and always a little bit weird. Story is a fun shop with almost painstakingly thought-out displays that are both pleasing to the eye and playful. Stop by to peruse the shop to look for odd home accents, gifts, and more. Open 11-8 daily, closes early on Sunday.

MM.LaFleur 611 Broadway, Suite 401

If you’re lacking the business clothing you desire, set an appointment at MM.LaFleur during your NY visit for in-person styling to fit your needs and measurements. MM.LaFleur is especially known for their online “Bento Box” service, with clothing selected by a dedicated stylist based on your taste, measurements and request. By appointment only; open 11-8 daily, closes early on weekends.
